The Story Behind the Campaign
Like many people in District 51, I was focused on raising my family, building a career, and serving my community. I wasn’t looking for a political title. I was busy solving problems, supporting local schools, helping families and advocating for people who felt overlooked.
Over the years, I learned something important: government decisions affect real people every day, but too often those people struggle to be heard. When I saw problems, I didn’t wait for someone else to step in. I got involved.
One of the most meaningful examples was helping save the home of a veteran’s widow who was facing foreclosure because of a gap in Michigan’s disabled veteran property tax exemption law. What started as helping one family eventually helped drive bipartisan legislative change. That experience showed me how government can work when people are willing to listen, collaborate and focus on solutions instead of politics.
My path to this campaign has also been shaped by my family. My husband, Jason, served twenty years in the United States Army. Together we are raising our daughters, Alex and Ava, here in White Lake. Like many families, we’ve navigated rising costs, school challenges, healthcare decisions and the everyday realities that come with building a life in Michigan.
Before becoming a Realtor, I built my career working with organizations including Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Lockheed Martin. Those experiences taught me accountability, teamwork, and how to bring people together to accomplish difficult goals.
Today, I continue to work directly with families, small business owners, veterans, seniors and residents throughout our community. I hear their concerns every day because many are the same concerns my own family faces.
I am running because representation should be more than a vote in Lansing. It should be visible, accessible and responsive. I believe government works best when leaders listen first, communicate honestly and stay connected to the people they serve.
District 51 deserves a representative who understands the challenges facing working families, values practical solutions over political theater, and is committed to showing up, listening and getting results.
I don't believe leadership is about having all the answers. It's about listening, bringing people together and doing the work. Throughout my life and career, I've learned that real progress happens when people come together to solve problems instead of focusing on what divides them. That's how I've approached every challenge I've taken on, and it's how I'll serve District 51.
That's why I'm running.
